Refia was raised by the blacksmith of Kazus, Takka. She became tired of her strict blacksmith training and ran away from home. When she tries to escape onboard an airship, she is captured by the sailors on board, and in punishment for stowaway, was sold at the next port, where she is bought by a merchant.
She ended up as the slave of a store keeper when her previous owner, the merchant defaulted on a loan.
